 Author: Ben Reed grew up and has grown old in the farming communities surrounding Lamar, Missouri. He was brought up poor and is grateful to have maintained that financial status. He has lived in a house with no indoor facilities, attended a one room school, been run over by cows before “Mad Cow” was determined to be a disease and has spent sixteen hour long days behind a tractor just thinking about noting else except the funny side of live.

Book: This book is an assortment of humorous stories that have only gotten better with age. Some may ask if they are event true. Weta Nichols Fiction Writing Contest

Ozarks Romance Authors

The Ozarks Romance Authors’ organization is growing, with 52 members at this point. At least half of the authors have been published. The group meets the first Saturday of each month at The Library Station in Springfield, Missouri. The annual Weta Nichols Fiction Writing Contest sponsored by the Ozark Romance Authors is open to entries now, with a deadline of 11:59 p.m. on July 15. Categories for the contest entries are historical, contemporary, paranormal/sci-fi, and young adult. Entries are open genre and not required to contain romantic tones. From The Kitchen to The Bandstand: Singing My Songs

Author: Billie R. Armstrong arrived on this planet October 9, 1925, in the city of San Diego, California. Like many children of that era, he was part of the Great Depression years. At the age of sixteen, he quit school and got a job to help his mother support his younger bother and sister. In 1942, when he reached the age of seventeen, he joined the U.S. Navy. 

Billie Armstrong now lives in Nixa, Missouri. He is one of the local WW II veterans to visit Washington, D.C. this year as part of the Ozarks Honor Flight program.

Bunnykins

Marilyn Mueller Stewart, author of Bunnykins and Thank You God for Everything!: Gracias a Dios Por Todo joined Home Grown Books in May.  Both of Marilyn’s books are available at Amazon.com.   

Author: Marilyn J. Mueller was born and raised in Imperial, Missouri. Her parents and grandparents owned and operated a family restaurant and bowling lanes there called the Welcome Inn Lanes. She has lived in Springfield, Missouri, for the past twelve years, where she is now semi-retired.

An entrepreneur, Marilyn went from being an executive secretary to owning and operating a used car business for twelve years in Imperial. Later she owned and operated an employment agency in St. Louis.

Marilyn's experience is not confined to the workplace. She taught Bible school at Rock Presbyterian Church in Imperial, where she also promoted the local Elks' charity events. She lived in Europe for two years, where she met President Truman in the Coliseum. Marilyn speaks Italian, since she lived in Italy, but she is of French, German, and English descent. An artist by nature, her hobbies include writing, painting, sewing, knitting, decorating, and cooking.

Author: Susie Macomber is a native Missourian and has lived in Springfield for most of her thirty-eight years of marriage. She has three grown children. She loves being a homemaker and caring for her mini-greenhouse and large yard full of beautiful plants.
